Transition into Spring with a practice for recuperation and opening to the new season. Soften and release tensions in the shoulders, neck, back and hips. Recuperative practice and specific pranayama breathing exercises with be taken to soothe the nervous system, support immune function, calm the mind, and still the senses of perception. With an emphasis on being rather than doing, this practice brings us into harmony with the body's inherent rhythm with inner steadiness. Join us for this exciting workshop with Eyal Shifroni, Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher and Author of A Chair for Yoga and Props for Yoga. His first visit to Canada!

Eyal Shifroni is a senior Iyengar Yoga teacher who has been practicing since 1978 and teaching Iyengar Yoga since 1985. He directs the Iyengar Yoga Center of Zichron-Ya’akov in Israel and conducts Yoga workshops in Israel and around the world. As one of the most senior teachers in Israel, Eyal is active in the IYAI (Iyengar Yoga Association of Israel). He conducts teacher training courses and takes active part in the assessment of new teachers. Eyal also holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Technion (the Israeli Institute of Technology) and  taught Computer Science for many years in Israel.

Eyal has published the book A Chair for Yoga and three volumes of the guide Props for Yoga, highlighting the creative use of props in Iyengar yoga for inspired access to the practice. He has written many articles about the practice and the philosophy of Yoga, and translated two of B.K.S. Iyengar’s books to Hebrew (The Tree of Yoga & Light on Pranayama).
